The Chicago Conscious Closet Club is a community of Chicagoans with an interest in ethical clothing and fashion who learn from each other, share ideas, and have fun.
We took our name from Elizabeth Cline’s 2019 book, The Conscious Closet: The Revolutionary Guide to Looking Good While Doing Good. CFT was lucky enough to have Elizabeth headline two events in Chicago in 2019, and shortly afterward CFT executive director Katherine Bissell Cordova came up with the idea of starting a club. Elizabeth gave permission to use her name, and here we are! We'll be using Elizabeth's book as inspiration for posts and events. But we also hope to go beyond the topics covered in the book, diving into anything and everything related to ethical fashion. Have an idea for a tour, class, or interview? Let us know at ccc@chicagofairtrade.org. Check our events section for upcoming CCC events! |
