About Chicago Green Drinks Inspired by the original Green Drinks gatherings in London, UK, a Chicago gathering was initially suggested by Carl Boyd and was first held in February 2003. It has been running continuously every month since. An informal monthly event for people with an interest in environmental/ sustainability issues, the event regularly draws anywhere from 70 to over 100 people. The audience is incredibly diverse in terms of specific interests and professional backgrounds, ranging from members of various design disciplines, to nonprofit and government staff members, to a range of people with professional and personal interests in sustainability topics.
