THE CARAVAN IS COMING!

Get ready for the biggest Oriental rug show ever! September 7-15, Amir Chaman of Pakistan arrives with 300 heirloom-quality Persian, bokhara and tribal hand knotted wool, wool-and-cotton and wool-and-silk rugs in all sizes and colors. These rugs are maid by fairly paid adults whose work dramatically improves the lives of people of many faiths who work together to earn a decent living, especially for woman and single mothers, who otherwise would not be able to obtain fairly paid work in an extremely tight local job market. With fair trade rugs, they are able to work in their homes and fit their other duties around rug making. These durable rugs with a lifespan of 180-300 years will also dramatically improve the appearance of your home and eventually those of your grandchildren! Bring a friend to the show and recieve a free mug rug for both of you! The show runs Friday, September 7th through Saturday, September 15th.

Rug Seminars

There are two special events through out the show. On Friday, September 7 and Wednesday, September 12 at 7pm Mr. Chaman will present two seminars. The seminars will be one hour long and will include a video of Pakistani rug producers and stories of how fair trade impacts their lives, especially in being able send their children to school. There will be a speaker from Pakistan who will demonstrate techniques and explain the history, and special tes and desserts from Pakistan. Please call the store at (847) 733-8258 to reserve a spot so they can better prepare the food.
