Globalfest: Latin America

Chicago Fair Trade’s annual gala featuring fair trade wine and cocktails, appetizers, silent auction and Latin music will celebrate the growing consumers support for products that guarantee social benefits to workers and the environment.  Stories of Latin American producers of Fair Trade coffee, wine, chocolate, fashions and jewelry will be included.

Includes access to Day of the Dead exhibit from 5:30- 7:30pm (http://nationalmuseumofmexicanart.org)

Enjoy a special microbrew for Day of the Dead by 5 Rabbit.     Vida y Muerte Ale will be launched as the seasonal for Day of the Dead and it will only be available on draft at select bars around the city. This beer is an elegant beer with subtle aroma of dulce de leche and spices. The hoja santa is traditionally used in Mexican cuisine and it is an aromatic herb with traces of cinnamon, tarragon and all spice.

A highlight of the evening will be the recognition of Bill Lamme as this year's Changemaker, a teacher at Kelly High School.  Learn more about Bill's work.
