JwJ's mission is to improve working people's standard of living, fight for job security, and protect workers' right to organize. JwJ has created a network of local coalitions that connect labor, faith-based, community, and student organizations to work together on workplace and community social justice campaigns.
Chicago Coalition for the Homeless
The Chicago Coalition for the Homeless (CCH) organizes and advocates to prevent and end homelessness based on the belief that housing is a human right in a just society. The coffee project, marketing HOME GROUND fair trade coffee, offers marketable job experience and a fair, part-time wage to homeless and formerly homeless adults active at CCH.
Mexico Solidarity Network
The Mexico Solidarity Network is a grassroots-based organization dedicated to profound social change that challenges existing power relationships and builds alternatives. It struggles for democracy, economic justice and human rights on both sides of the US-Mexico border. It works to see that Civil society takes the leading role in fomenting social change by developing democratic spaces and empowering communities outside of establishment structures.
Casa Guatemala
Casa Guatemala is a not for profit community based organization that works to empower the Guatemalan and latino community in Chicago and the midwest through media training, youth programs, cultural events, and workshops. They support Guatemalan cooperatives and producers to help market their products in the United States at Fair Trade prices. Casa Guatemala also promotes Fair Trade practices within the community.
Angelic Organics Learning Center
The Latinas Jaboneras Soapmaking project is part of the Angelic Organics Learning Center's farmer training program. The program offers immigrant women a living wage to produce and market organic "Just Milk Soap".
Black United Fund of Illinois
The Black United Fund of Illinois is a non-profit, tax-exempt federated organization and a social movement designed to improve the quality of life for African Americans through reliance on self-help at the local community level. At the root of this philosophy is the statewide goal of developing systematic mechanisms to rally resources for the African American community.
Little Black Pearl Art and Design Center
The mission of Little Black Pearl is to create opportunities for youth and adults to deepen their creative involvement through the arts, cultivate their entrepreneurial skills and use the arts as a means for economic empowerment and community transformation. The Hidden Pearl Cafe offers fair trade coffee, chocolate and gifts.
Center for Cultural Interchange
Established in 1985, CCI is a non-profit international exchange organization dedicated to the promotion of cultural understanding, academic development and world peace. Based in Chicago, CCI organizes high school exchange, short term group homestay, internship, work and travel, and language study programs in the United States and in over 30 countries. CCI is dedicated to the preservation of, respect for, and health of our global community. This dedication is evident through out “Greenheart Initiative” through which we encourage and provide funding for CCI program participants involved in environmentally friendly projects.

Oxfam America is committed to creating lasting solutions to poverty, hunger and social injustice. The Midwest office works to reform agriculture trade policies to help farming communities all over the world achieve a more stable and sustainable existence.
